Humoraki - Original Raki Drink

humoraki
/ˈhjumərɑkiː/

noun [Greek, diminutive, humor + aki]
The ability to be comic or amuse other people by making them laugh.

Raki or rakı (/rɑːˈkiː/, /rɑːˈkuː/, /rɑːˈkɜːr/, Turkish pronunciation: [ɾaˈkɯ]) is a sweetened, often anise-flavoured, alcoholic drink that is popular in Turkey, the Greek Islands and in the Balkan countries as an apéritif. It is often served with seafood or meze. It is comparable to several other alcoholic beverages available around the Mediterranean, especially in Crete and the Middle East, e.g. pastis, ouzo,  tsikoudia, sambuca, arak and aguardiente.

Traditionally, humor is believed to have grown from the Latin word for “liquid” or “fluid.” It originally referred to the four chief substances that ancient Greeks believed flowed through our bodies: yellow bile, black bile, blood, and phlegm and that if their mixing is done normally and according to the natural proportions then the person is healthy, and cheerful (in 'boun umore', according to the Italians, or 'en bonne humoeur', according to the French). In ancient humoral theory, each of these substances was associated with a personality trait, and each person’s unique mixture dictated their disposition.

"Humoraki" is a fictional Greek consumer brand based in Chania, Crete. This project introduces the branding of the  traditional and famous Cretan raki product, drawing inspiration from the most representative way of Greek society's interaction beyond flirting, laughter.

In need of a modern, fancy, and fun aesthetic approach of the packaging, the design follows bright colors, minimal shapes, and liquid patterns in a way that enhances the overall experience of 'hanging out with my friends.'
